Twas the night before Christmas and all through the shelter
The puppies and kittens were running helter
skelterThey wanted everything perfect, things had to be right For Santa Claus was coming, he was coming tonight. The pups set out a cup of hot cocoa, by a big comfy chair. while the kittens placed a tray full of cookies right there. When my people friends announced that it was time for bed In unison they protested they wanted to see the man dressed in red. The puppies and kittens tried finding a good place to hide. Just the thought of seeing Santa, had them all so wide eyed! But as the minutes passed by, and the hour became late One by one they dozed off, they just couldn't wait So I donned my Santa suit, just in case, and a long white beard to help cover my face. Just in case any of them awoke, I wanted them to see, Santa Claus instead of me. It's not that we were trying to deceive. It's just hard for young'ins to perceive That the real Santa lives within our heart. Until they do, I'll just play the part. But now I must hurry and put gifts under the tree. So when the little ones awake they will see, There's a Santa that cares like you and me. And while on the subject of Santa I just wanted to say, Thanks to each one of you for making my day. It's because of your donations that you have helped TLC Save hundreds of puppies and kittens from a life of misery. No dogs having to go hungry, with no place to go Nor cats desperate to find shelter from the cold and snow But saying thanks does not even begin to convey Our gratitude for the homeless animals you've helped along the way. So our wish for you and your entire family too, Is that Santa bestows many gifts upon you.... The gift of happiness, the gift of love, along with many blessings from above. Shhhhh! Do you hear what I hear! Sleighbellsl ![]() No It couldn't be. Chris Ader ran her dogs off for the animals ![]() When Chris Ader says she wants to do something to raise money for the animals, Chris goes about it in a big way. This is the second time Chris has run the Quad City Marathon to help homeless animals at TLC. Running the Quad City is in no way a small feat, and took Chris weeks of training both mentally and physically in order to prepare herself for the grueling course. The 26.2 mile course covers 4 cities, 3 bridges 2 states and 1 island along the Mississippi with the race ending in Moline. As you can see by that confident smile on Chris's face, she was happy to be doing it, because she was doing it for a good cause. She said instead of thinking about how her feet might be hurting or how sore her muscles might be, she concentrated on how many animals she could help with every mile she was able to complete. Chris raised $1,526.00 WOO HOO! * As an added note Chris completed the race 45 minutes earlier than she had done her prior year, with a time of 4 hours 44 minutes and 43 seconds! A special thanks goes out to Artisian Heating and Refrigeration for taking care of our 2 furnaces including some major repair for gratis. Also thanks to Bill Siemeck for all the electrical work he did for TLC at no charge. Photo Contest Winners
